SOLD OUT

A guided walk to explore – briefly - a range of history within 1 mile of Old Town – Jurassic, Stone Age, medieval to modern. Total distance 1 ¾ miles. Meet in the Wheatsheaf Pub, Newport Street, at 6.45 for a 7.00 pm start.

The guided walk will go out along the old railway line south of Old Town, and will return up a steep concrete track to Mill Lane, Westlecot Road and through the Town Gardens back to The Wheatsheaf, by 8.30 pm (well before sunset).

The route is along pavements, cinder trackways, and includes a steep climb up from the old railway line to Mill Lane. There are two sets of steps giving access to and from the old railway line and so the walk is not recommended for wheelchair users.

Wear sensible shoes, warm clothing, and waterproofs if it looks showery. The walk may need to be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

Charge for the walk - Donation. All proceeds go to Prospect Hospice.   Advance booking is necessary.
