The UK and the Commonwealth celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. To celebrate this historical event of Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne, Friends of Old Town/Old Town Business Association invite you to a street party celebration in Wood Street.

Live music throughout the day will feature iconic and classic songs from across the reign of The Queen, from the 1950’s to the present day, as well as dance performances, street performers plus some ‘Royal’ guests who will be hosting a singalong with the children (and grown ups!). ‘As Chair of Leisure, Environment and Amenities Committee at South Swindon Parish Council, we are delighted to be partnering with Old Town Business Association on their series of events, starting with their Queen’s Jubilee Party on Sunday 5 June. We look forward to developing a long-term working relationship with the Old Town Business Association to benefit both their events and the Parish Council events in the Town Gardens, Queen’s Park and GWR Park. For those living around Queen’s Park, the Parish Council is hosting a Big Jubilee Lunch in the park on Sunday 5 June from 11am until 2pm and we encourage residents to join the celebrations throughout the town centre and Old Town in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.’
